BIRMINGHAM, AL – The Birmingham Business Journal has named Rosalyn Lawson, Vice President of People & Culture at The Ōnin Group, a 2025 HR Impact Award Honoree—a recognition that affirms what so many at Ōnin already know: real leadership shows up, lifts others, and builds systems that hold.

Rosalyn first joined Ōnin in 2019 as a Regional Manager. By 2022, she had been promoted to Director of People & Culture. Rosalyn’s leadership has helped guide Ōnin to earn recognition nationally as one of the Staffing Industry Analysts’ Best Staffing Firms to Work For and one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s Best Places to Work.

But titles only tell part of the story. Rosalyn’s influence runs deeper. She’s helped make Ōnin the kind of place where people build careers, feel valued, and stretch for more. She brings structure and empathy in equal measure—cultivating a culture that doesn’t just feel good, but performs for clients and Teammates alike.

“Rosalyn is the real deal,” said Jim Weaver, CEO of The Ōnin Group. “Her leadership has created the kind of environment where people grow, stay, and perform. It’s not soft and it’s not fluff — it provides a foundation for results. We’ve got a culture that feels good—but make no mistake — we’re also a team that executes at a high level. Rosalyn leads on both fronts.”

Beyond her work at Ōnin, Lawson is an active force in the HR and leadership space. She’s a member of the SHRM Executive Network, Chief, Birmingham Women for Good, and the Women Business Leaders Board. She’s also a proud alum of Western Governors University.
