Do You Know the Meaning of 5S?
To refresh your memory, here’s a quick review of the 5S process.
- Sort – sorting through the contents of an area and removing unnecessary items
- Set – arranging necessary items to provide easy and efficient access and keeping them that way
- Shine – cleaning everything, keeping it clean, and using cleaning as a way to ensure that your area and equipment is maintained as it should be
- Standardization – creating guidelines for keeping the area organized, orderly, and clean and making the standards visual and obvious
- Sustain – education and communication to ensure that everyone stays disciplined to the 5S standards
Thank you all for remaining safe! So far this year we have 0 recordable injuries. This is a true example of applying the 5S!

Success Story

My name is Taurence Woolbright and I started with Ōnin in October 2022 and was hired in April 2023. It’s an honor to be recognized as a success story. Although I did not work directly with Derek, I did work under Ryan Patri who is now the area manager for Ōnin. This is a short motivational speech to leave you the reader encouraged. Just know if you come in and learn your job you will become reliable to the company! When others call out, pick up the slack; when other Teammates call out on off shifts, volunteer for OT! See you at work!
“Sometimes you have to be willing to do what others won’t ”
